This image has a strong resemblance (but is different) with the 1973 acrylic on masonite ‘Migration (The Great Flood)’, as shown op page 195; Sinclair, L., & Pollock, J. (1979). The Art of Norval Morrisseau.  Toronto, New York, London, Sydney: Methuen. At the moment part of the collection of the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto.

1) However Smithonian states is from circa 1975, that’s more likely the date of the original. This ALVO silkscreen has to be between 1978-1981. One collector bought it in end of 1980/beginning of 1981. I estimate it ca 1980, but confirmation is necessary.

– Smithonian – The National Museum of the American Indian (#67)

Info needed:
– Confirmation image size
– Exact year of print
– Literature (official statements in books, magazines, exhibits, original
  promotion material)
– Additional info or reference material

Thanks to:

– Matt Steffich of Steffich Fine Art for providing me some new information and confirmations.
